History:
We were gathered in 1874, in Royal Oak, as Emmanuel German Evangelical Church. Our present facility (our fourth) was built in 1964. In 1975 Bethel United Church of Christ (formerly German Evangelical) merged with Emmanuel. In 1999 we joined the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (www.ccccusa.org).

What is God doing now? ! see H. Blackaby’s "God-sized activity"

He is in process of awakening us to what Matthew 28:19-20 really means. The first step has been in our participation in mission activity. He has moved us from "buying" mission activity to doing mission work. Numerous members are participating in short-term activities. The second step has been developing in us a willingness to share Christ with those around us. Where He has placed us in the neighborhood, work and school, to let our light shine.

VISION and MISSION of EMMANUEL BETHEL CHURCH

Our Vision Statement is based upon Matthew 28:19-20. Jesus said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age."

As a church family, we understand discipleship as entering into a personal relationship with Christ, and therefore, we seek to be:

A place to grow spiritually.

To grow in our knowledge of God through an understanding of Christ's teachings; living and working together in the Holy Spirit.

A place to share our faith.

To share God's grace by bringing more people to Christ by being faithful stewards, by helping others both inside and outside of the church family, by being God's instrument of change in people's lives and by supporting each other in our faith practice.

Our Mission Statement is based upon Ephesians 4:12-13. And so we all shall come together to that oneness in our faith and on our knowledge of the son of God.

As a church family, we want to prepare and equip ourselves and others to joyfully perform the work of Christian service by helping all to have a personal relationship with Christ.
